The main difference between aorta and vena cava is that aorta carries oxygenated blood whereas vena cava carries deoxygenated blood. Aorta is the main artery that leaves the heart through the left ventricle. It supplies oxygenated blood throughout the body.

Answer:

The placenta is a unique vascular organ that receives blood supplies from both the maternal and the fetal systems and thus has two separate circulatory systems for blood: (1) the maternal-placental (uteroplacental) blood circulation, and (2) the fetal-placental (fetoplacental) blood circulation. The uteroplacental circulation starts with the maternal blood flow into the intervillous space through decidual spiral arteries. Exchange of oxygen and nutrients take place as the maternal blood flows around terminal villi in the intervillous space. The in-flowing maternal arterial blood pushes deoxygenated blood into the endometrial and then uterine veins back to the maternal circulation. The fetal-placental circulation allows the umbilical arteries

Which plants are likely to be infertile or to have reduced fertility? Check all that apply. Check all that apply. Species with a
Lemur [1.5K]

D. Species with an odd number of chromosome sets (triploid and pentaploid) would be infertile.

E. Aneuploid individuals (monosomic and trisomic) would have reduced fertility.

Explanation - Chromosomes generally happens to occur in the set of two. Organism that have more than two sets of chromosome are called polyploids. Polyploids that have odd or uneven count of sets of chromosome are sterile or fully infertile.

Example - triploid (3n), pentaploid (5n) because their gametes and offsprings are aneuploid. Aneuploidy is addition of entire chromosome to the already existing normal set of chromosome. Aneuploids are unable to produce viable offspring because their fertility got decreased as the zygote formed after the fertilization itself is aneuploid.
