The first thing in the reason column of a two colum proof is always GIVEN as it always coincide with an established fact which has been stated in the question to be worked on.

Two colum proofs involves using a tabulated format in establishing a conjecture.

Statements or facts are written on one side and the reason why the statement is true is stated in the reason column which is on the opposite side.

Starting a two column proof usually involve stating the the assumptions which are given about the shape or geometry.

Since each statement made requires a reason, then the reason behind the first statement which is based on what is stated in the question is written as GIVEN.

THEREFORE, after the statement given in the question has been established, then other reasons such as distributive, Commutative and other reasons may be used to proof one's solution statement.

Samantha's hockey team is fundraising for a trip to Europe! They are aerating lawns to raise money. Aerating lawns is a great se
atroni [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the fund raised in dollars be represented by R.

Let the number of lawns aerated during the day be represented by l.

The team has decided to charge $35/lawn for city-sized lots. This means that for l lawns, the fund raised would be

R = 35l

Since they were able to aerate 26 lawns in one day and the rental cost for two aerating machines is $215, then the amount if money that they were able to raise is

(35 × 26) - 215

= 910 - 215 = $695

The amount of money that the team will lose if they were unable to aerate due to weather conditions is the rental cost for two aerating machines which is $215

The only way they could avoid this loss is by taking note of the weather before renting the machine.

Given a right triangle, if `tan θ = (3)/(4)`, what is the length of the side adjacent to `/_ theta` ?
Scorpion4ik [409]

SOH CAH TOA tells you ...

... Tan(θ) = Opposite/Adjacent

You have ...

... Tan(θ) = (3)/(4)

Matching parts of the two expressions, we see ...

... Adjacent = (4)

_____

In the context of this problem we might reasonably assume that the adjacent side length is 4 units. In any other context, the best we might say is that it is 4/3 times the length of the opposite side.
