a) If a star's spectrum is blue shifted, it will not necessarily appear blue.

A blueshift is any increase in frequency of a light wave. The name comes from the fact that blue light has a higher frequency than red light, so the frequency is shifting toward the blue end of the spectrum.

If a star is moving towards us, the number of light waves reaching our eyes in a second (i.e., the frequency) will increase (a blueshift).

If the star emits red light, the blueshift will make it look less red, but it won’t necessarily make the star look blue.

b) If Star A is closer than Star A and both are approaching at the same speed, one will not appear bluer than the other. The distance from an observer does not affect the blueshift, so both will have the same blueshift.

If you fill your car tire to a pressure of 32 psi (pounds per square inch) on a hot summer day when the temperature is 35°C (95°
Murrr4er [49]
By Gay Lussacs law you can find the pressure. First both temperatures of Celsius must change to Kelvin by adding 273. Temperature one will be 308K and temperature 2 will be 258K
With this info, you can now find the pressure with Lussacs law

P1 = P2
— —
T1 T2

Pressure 1 is given which is 32 psi so just plug it all in and find P2

32 = x
—— ——
308 258

308x = 8256 (Cross multiply)

X = 26.8 (divide both sides by 308)

Answer is 26.8 PSI

This makes sense because as temperature increases pressure increases, as well as when temperature decreases, pressure decreases. Since it’s a colder day the pressure will be lower.

If your end product is 1.5 moles of KMnO 4 how many moles of manganese oxide were used in the reaction? The equation for the pro
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

1.5 moles

Explanation:

The equation of the reaction is given as:

2 MnO2 + 4 KOH + O2 --> 2KMnO 4 + 2KOH + H2

From the equation,

2 moles of MnO2 produces 2 moles of KMnO4

x moles of MnO2 would produce 1.5 moles of KMnO4

2 = 2

x = 1.5

Solving for x;

x = 1.5 * 2 / 2

x = 1.5 moles
