Amy is making a cake that calls for a 5/6 cup of crushed graham crackers. If she had already crushed 1/2 cup, how much more does
Dafna1 [17]

Convert 1/2 into 3/6:

\frac{1}{2}=\frac{3}{6}

Subtract both terms:

\frac{5}{6}-\frac{3}{6}=\frac{2}{6}

Simpifly the terms:

\frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}

Final Result: 1/3

a bottle of soda had 4 2/7 of the daily recommended sugar.if you were to drink ½ of the bottle,how. much of the daily recommend
statuscvo [17]
Did I understand correctly, the first number is:

4\frac{2}{7}?

in other words, this would be:

\frac{4*7+2}{7} = \frac{30}{7}

and if you drink half of it, then we divide this number by 2:

\frac{15}{7}

because 30/2=15

so you would have

2 \frac{1}{7}

still more than a daily dose!
