5 0

Answer:

  1. 288 cm²
  2. 61 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

The dashed lines are included in the figure to help you see how it can be decomposed into shapes you know the area formulas for.

The relevant area formulas are ...

  rectangle: A = LW . . . . . product of length and width

  triangle: A = 1/2bh . . . . . half the product of base and height

__

<h3>1.</h3>

There are three rectangles here:

  left: A = (8 cm)(9 cm) = 72 cm²

  top: A = (12 cm)(9 cm) = 108 cm²

  lower right: A = (12 cm)(9 cm) = 108 cm²

The total area of these three rectangles is ...

  (72 +108 +108) cm² = 288 cm²

The area of Figure 1 is 288 cm².

__

<h3>2.</h3>

There is a rectangle here, along with a triangle.

  rectangle: A = (10 ft)(4 ft) = 40 ft²

  triangle: A = 1/2(6 ft)(3+4 ft) = 21 ft²

The total area of the parts of the figure is ...

  (40 +21) ft² = 61 ft²

The area of Figure 2 is 61 ft².

_____

<em>Additional comment</em>

Figure 1 can be decomposed other ways:

  • an overall 18×20 cm rectangle with a 9×8 cm rectangle removed from the upper left corner
  • a 9×20 rectangle at the bottom with a 9×12 rectangle at the top
  • a 9×8 rectangle at the left with an 18×12 rectangle at the right

Another way to decompose Figure 2 is as a trapezoid with a rectangle removed from the lower left. The trapezoid would have bases 10 and 10+6=16, and a height of 4+3=7. The removed rectangle is 10×3. (The computation we did is probably simpler.)

Evaluate : limx→ tan2-sin2x x3
GrogVix [38]

Given:

\lim _{x\to0}\frac{\tan 2x-\sin 2x}{x^3}

Solve:

\lim _{x\to0}\frac{\tan 2x-\sin 2x}{x^3}

Use l'hopital's rule:

\begin{gathered} =\lim _{x\to0}\frac{\frac{d}{dx}(-\sin 2x+\tan 2x)}{\frac{d}{dx}(x^3)} \\ =\lim _{x\to0}\frac{-2\cos (2x)+2\tan ^2(2x)+2}{3x^2} \end{gathered}

Simplify:

\begin{gathered} =\lim _{x\to0}\frac{-2\cos (2x)+2\tan ^2(2x)+2}{3x^2} \\ =\lim _{x\to0}\frac{2(-\cos (2x)+\tan ^2(2x)+1)}{3x^2} \end{gathered}

Apply the constant multiple rule:

\begin{gathered} \lim _{x\to0}cf(x)=c\lim _{x\to0}f(x) \\ \text{With c=}\frac{2}{3} \\ f(x)=\frac{-\cos (2x)+\tan ^2(2x)+1}{x^2} \end{gathered}\begin{gathered} =\frac{2\lim _{x\to0}\frac{-\cos (2x)+\tan ^2(2x)+1}{x^2}}{3} \\ =\frac{2\lim _{x\rightarrow0}\frac{(4\tan ^2(2x)+4)\tan (2x)+2\sin (2x)}{2x}}{3} \end{gathered}

Similary :

\begin{gathered} =\frac{2\lim _{x\to0}(2\cos (2x)+12\tan ^4(2x)+16\tan ^2(2x)+4)}{3} \\ =\frac{2(6)}{3} \\ =4 \end{gathered}

If Jana bikes 15 miles in 50 minutes. How can you find the number of miles she bikes in one hour?
adell [148]

Answer:

Therefore,

Jana bikes 18 miles in one hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Jana bikes,

15 miles  ---------------> in 50 minutes

To Find:

How many miles  ------------------> in 1 hour = 60 minutes

Solution:

Let 'x' miles Jana Bikes in 1 hour or 60 minutes

As, 1 hour = 60 minutes

The Ratio of Equation will be

\dfrac{15}{x}=\dfrac{50}{60}

Cross Multiplying we get

x=\dfrac{900}{50}=18\ miles

Therefore,

Jana bikes 18 miles in one hour.

The formula for the surface area of a cube is S 5 6x2
MrRa [10]
If the length of a side is x, then the surface area of a face of the cube is x squared. there are six sides in a cube so 6(x^2) would be the surface area.
6(x^2)=150
(x^2)=25
x=5

Answer:

Hope this helps!!! :)

Step-by-step explanation:

#1: if there is buy 1 get 1 free, then buy 6 get 3 free. so 2.8 times 3 = $8.4

#2: 4 for $3. break it up to 1 for $0.75. now 0.75 times 6 = $4.5

#3: the second one. $4.5 < $8.4

#4: 45 times 12 = $54
