Rational or Irrational? Help?

Mathematics
1 answer:

Answer:

The expression is irrational.

Step-by-step explanation:

Irrational and rational numbers are all real numbers.  However, rational numbers can also be expressed in terms of a fraction where as irrational numbers are composed of non-terminating and non-repeating decimals.  So, irrational numbers are numbers that when calculated produce a decimal that has no end and has no pattern of repetition.  Anytime you calculate with an irrational number, no matter multiplication, division, subtraction or addition, the answer will always be irrational.  In the given expression, \sqrt{3} is an irrational number because it is an imperfect square and will produce a non-terminating and non-repeating decimal when solved:

\sqrt{3} = 1.7320508...

Since the expression contains an irrational number, the solution must also be irrational.

A box of oranges weighs 4 kg. If one orange weighs 80 g, how many oranges are in the boxes?
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

<u>The</u><u>r</u><u>e </u><u>are </u><u>5</u><u>0</u><u> </u><u>oranges </u><u>in </u><u>the </u><u>box.</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Weight of box = 4 kg = 4000 g

Weight of 1 orange = 80 g

No. of oranges in the box = ?

No. of oranges in the box = Weight of the box / Weight of 1 orange

No. of oranges in the box = 4000 / 80 = <u>50 oranges.</u>

If q is directly proportional to p and q = 28 when p = 4 (Express q in teams of p.)
k0ka [10]

Answer:

q = 7p

Step-by-step explanation:

given q is directly proportional to p then the equation relating them is

q = kp ← k is the constant of proportion

To find k use the condition q = 28 when p = 4 , then

28 = 4k ( divide both sides by 4 )

7 = k

q = 7p ← equation of proportion

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS
NeX [460]

In this question , we have to use sine law, which is

\frac{sin \ Q}{PR} = \frac{sin \ P}{QR}

\frac{sin73}{68} =  \frac{sin \ P }{47.6}

sin  \ P = \frac{47.6 sin 73}{68}

P = sin^{-1} ( \frac{ 47.6 sin73}{68}) = 42

Correct option is b.
