Mathematics

Answer:

If I am correct, I think the surface area is 448.

Step-by-step explanation:

First start by finding the area of all the sides

Front side. 12 x 10 = 120

2 triangle sides: 8 x 10 = 80, 80 x 2 = 160

Bottom side: 6 x 12 = 72

Back side: 8 x 12 = 96

Then add up the surface area

120 + 160 + 72 + 96 = 448

Btw I don't know if I am correct, but I think this is the way you find surface area.

The quotient of a number and 3 decreased by 121 is -164. Select the solution to the sentence shown.
docker41 [41]
Its algebra. The original equation is \frac{x}{3} -121 = -164

To solve for a variable, we reverse the order of operations, beginning with addition/subtraction, and then multiplication/division. To remove a number from one side, we must do the opposite to the other side. In this case, to get rid of the -121 we must add 121 to the -164. This gives us -43. Then, to get the x by itself, we must multiply the other side by 3. -43*3=129

When we are doing the opposite of an operation to the other side, we are really reversing the operation and, to keep both sides equal, we must do whatever we have done to one side to the other side. So when we have -121, we add 121 as it equals 0, therefore it is gone. Since a equation must be balanced, we have to do what we did to the other side (adding 121).

What is the value of x, when 10(x + 2) = 5(x + 8)?
tatuchka [14]
The value of x is 4. The steps to solving the equation are to use distributive property first so that the equation then looks like this: 10x+20=5x+40
Next you would combine like terms and then the equation would look like this: 5x+20=40
Then you would use the subtraction property of equality to subtract 20 from 40 so your equation will now look like this: 5x=20
Then you use the division property of equality to divide 20 by 5 to get x=4

Which of the following are solutions to the equation below?
34kurt

Answer:

B. 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Rearrange the equation so that is in the form (ax² + bx + c = 0).

6x² - 3x + 36 = 5x² + 10x

x² - 3x + 36 = 10x

x² - 13x + 36 = 0

Now, factor the equation and solve for x.

x² - 13x + 36 = 0

(x - 4)(x - 9) = 0

x - 4 = 0

x = 4

x - 9 = 0

x = 9

The solutions to the equation are 4 and 9.  The correct answer choice is B.
