x=10 because you add the variables to get 5x and you do 46-6 to get 40. Then you subtract 40 from 90 to get 50 and divide by 5 to get 10 as ur answer.

The two angles are part of the bigger 90 degree angle, so the sum of the two angles is 90°. So, an equation can be made: (2x+46)+(3x-6)=90

Solve it to find the value of x. It is 10.

in a bag of 20 marbles, 4 are blue. what is the probability that one taken at random will not be blue?
Ber [7]
Your answer is 4/5, which is 80% or 0.8

If there are 20 marbles in total in the bag, and 4 blue ones, that means that the probability of taking a blue one is 4/20.

This means that the probability of not taking a blue one is 1 - 4/20, or 20/20 - 4/20, which equals 16/20 = 4/5

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions :)

The graph of an absolute value function contains the points (–3, 5), (0, 2) and (3, 5). Which could be the function represented
Alex73 [517]

The absolute value functions that contains the points are:

  • f(x) = |x| + 2
  • f(x) = |-x| + 2

<h3>Which could be the function represented by this graph?</h3>

Here we have the points (-3, 5), (0, 2), and (3, 5). We want to see which ones of the given functions have that points.

To check that, we need to evaluate the functions in the first value of each point and see if the outcome is the second value of the correspondent point.

For example, for the first equation:

  • f(-3) = |-3| + 2 = 5   so it has the point (-3, 5)
  • f(0) = |0| + 2 = 2  so it has the point (0, 2)
  • f(3) = |3| + 2 = 5  so it has the point (3, 5).

The other option that also contains these 3 points is:

f(x) = |-x| + 2

  • f(-3) = |3| + 2 = 5  so it has the point (-3, 5)
  • f(0) = |-0| + 2 = 2  so it has the point (0, 2)
  • f(3) =  |-3| + 2 = 5  so it has the point (3, 5).

And all the other options can be trivially discarded (by evaluating them).

So the two correct options are:

  • f(x) = |x| + 2
  • f(x) = |-x| + 2
