Direction: Write IE (Industry Environment) if the statement describes Biotechnology in Industry and Environment and ND (Not disc

ussed) if not. Descriptions JE 1. The production of microbial biomass for animal food.
2. The microbial production of chemical substances, such as citric acid, glutamic acid, amino acids, etc.
3. The enzymatic production of special chemical substances, such as certain optical isomers, etc.
4. The microbial or enzymatic production of antibiotics and vitamins.
5. The large-scale production of chemical substances previously produced from crude oil, such as ethanol, butanol, acetone, acetic acid, etc.
6. Production, based on animal or vegetable cells or the cells of genetically modified microorganisms, of antigens, antibodies, therapeutic and diagnostic agents that were previously manufactured from superior organisms.
7. Improve the safety and hygiene of technology. 8. Comply with environmental legislation. 9. Enzymes, food coadjutants, and, above all, greater knowledge of the processes of fermentation which have always been used with the possibility of better selecting the micro-organisms and even genetically improving them.
10. Cleaner, or less pollutant technologies. The obtaining environmentally risk-free-or minimal risk-technology.

What is the purpose of industrial biotechnology?

Industrial biotechnology is a group of technologies that come from adjusting and changing the biological organisms, processes, outcomes, and methods found in nature with the intent of yielding goods and services.

Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, contain health care (medical), crop production and agriculture, non-food (industrial) use of crops and other products(e.g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses.

Thus, this could be the answer.

Arrange the sequence of events for the overall mitochondrial respiratory assembly in the correct order.
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

Option D, 4,2,1, 3

Explanation:

The mitochondrial respiratory chain (MRC) comprises of four membrane bound complexes and it involves the following steps

a) RC complexes (RCC) I and II reduces the RC’s equivalent where RCCI i.e receives electron from the NADH.

b) These electrons are then transferred to the flavin mononucleotide factor and then passed on to the Fe-S embedded cluster .

c) These electron reduces the coenzyme Q to ubiquinol

d) With in the inner mitochondrial membrane (IMM), protons are trans located from IMM to the intermembrane space (IMS)

e) RC complex II then transfer electron from succinate to the cofactor FAD

f) From FAD proton are transferred to the FeS cluster and on the other hand electron move from QH2 to the RC complex III

g) This RC complex III give its electrons to the cytochrome and they are further passes on to the RC complex IV

h) With four redox centers, the terminal RC complex translocate protein by using energy produced in electron transfer thereby converting oxygen into water.

Hence, the correct option is D

A scientist is using relative dating to determine the age of a fossil that she discovered. What would allow her to draw the best
xenn [34]

answer:

: D.finding fossils in the same area that are in layers closer to the surface.

Relative dating refers to the age estimation method in which past events are determined, to compare the age of object, organism, strata or rock with the age of other similar entity. This method gives an approximate or estimated age, it does not provide absolute age.

The older fossils are found in deeper layers of the strata as compared to younger fossils. This represents the geological time and life span of primitive or preexisting organisms. Therefore, according to the given situation, finding fossils in the same area that are in layers closer to the surface is the best conclusion
