Answer:

this is an arithmetic sequence. The formula to solve it is an = d (n - 1) + c

Step-by-step explanation:

you would plug in the first term in the sequence for d. then you would plug in the common difference for c. And then lastly you would plug in whatever nth term you are trying to get to for n. Then solve.

A 24ft flagpole has a shadow of 9ft. A soldier standing next to the flagpole has a shadow of 2.25 feet. How tall is the soldier?
natima [27]

Answer:

6 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's form a proportion;

24                    x

____    =      _____ ,

 9                   2.25

24(2.25) = 9x,

54 = 9x,

x = height of soldier = 6 feet

During a quality assurance check, the actual contents (in grams) of six containers of protein powder were recorded as 1530, 1
Fofino [41]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the values of the actual content of protein powder recorded as shown:

1530, 1532, 1495, 1508, 1528, and 1511

a) We are to find the mean and median of the contents.

Mean is the average sum of the numbers. It is expressed mathematically as xbar = ΣXi/N

Xi are individual values

N is the total number of values present.

N = 6

xbar = (1,530+1,532+1,495 +1,508+1,528+1,511)/6

xbar = 9104/6

xbar = 1517.33

Median of the data is the value at the middle after rearrangement. On rearranging from lowest to highest:

1,495, 1508, 1511, 1528, 1530, 1532

The two values at the centre are 1511 and 1528.

Median = 1511+1528/2

Median = 1519.5

b) If the third value was incorrectly measured and is actually 1515, then our new data will become.

1530, 1532, 1515, 1508, 1528, and 1511

xbar = (1,530+1,532+1,515 +1,508+1,528+1,511)/6

xbar = 9124/6

xbar = 1520.67

For median:

We arrange first

1508, 1511, 1515, 1528, 1530, 1532

The two values at the centre are 1515 and 1528.

Median = 1515+1528/2

Median = 1521.5

c) To know the measure of central tendency that was most affected, we will look at the difference in the values gotten for both mean and median.

∆Mean = 1520.67-1517.33

∆Mean = 3.34

∆Median = 1521.5 - 1519.5

∆Median = 2.0

It can be seen that the measure of central tendency with greater deviation is the mean. Therefore, the mean is more affected by the data entry error.

The digits 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are randomly arranged to form a three digit number. The digits are not repeated. What is the proabab
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

1/10

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 5·4·3 = 60 ways to choose a 3-digit number from 5 digits (no repeats).

There re 1·2·3 = 6 ways to choose a number 5x2 or 5x4 from those digits.

The probability of randomly choosing one of 60 that is one of the 6 is ...

... 6/60 = 1/10

I need help please and can you also explain how you got the answer
pashok25 [27]
Hello! Let’s start with multiplying them so they will have the same base! 2(2/3) = 4/6

Alright, now let’s divide them!

4/6 / 5/6 equals to 4 / 6 x 6 / 5 which is equal to 24 / 30 but I only see 2/3 times 6 / 5 WHICH IS the same thing tho.

The length of each side of a triangle is increased by 30%. By what percentage is the area increased?
patriot [66]

Answer:

When sides are doubled, the area of new triangle will always be 4 times the original, the change in area will be 3 times. Hence the % change will always be 300% irrespective of the type of triangle.
