Let x = amount of time the Arlen family must catch up to overtake the Harris family

In principle, the Harris and the Arlen family should cover the same distance. Since distance is speed x time,

45 (6+y) = 58y

270 + 45y = 58y

58y - 45y = 270

y = 270 ÷ 13

y= 20.77min

Question 16
den301095 [7]

Answer:

Statement B and D are correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of minutes Gabriel spends grading essays can be presented as a function: f(x) = 4x, where x is the number of graded essays and 4 is the number of minutes Gabriel spends on grading each essay.

By definition, domain of a function f(x) is the set of all values for which the function is defined, and the range of the function is the set of all values that f takes.

So in this case, domain of f(x) is the set of all values of x which is an integer going from 0 to 105. Statement D is accurate.

Range of f(x) is the set of all values that f takes and can be calculated by multiplying 4 with (0,105), equal (0,420). Statement B is accurate.

Average movie prices in the United States are, in general, lower than in other countries. It would cost $79.38 to buy three t
Marina86 [1]
3j + 2s = 79.38
3s + 2j = 75.12.  3s + 2j - 3s = -3s + 75.12.  2j/2 = -3/2s + 75.12/2.
j = -1.5s +  37.56
 Then you can use substitution
3(-1.5s + 37.56) + 2s = 79.38
-4.5s + 112.68 + 2s = 79.38
-2.5s + 112.68 - 112.68 = 79.38 - 112.68
-2.5s = -33.30
-2.5s/-2.5 = -33.30/-2.5
s = 13.32
So s is 13.32 so you plug that back in and solve for j
3j + 26.64 = 79.38
3j + 26.64 - 26.64 = 79.38 - 26.64
3j = 52.74
3j/3 = 52.74/3
j = 17.58
So in Japan tickets average 17.58 and in Switzerland they average 13.32
