In order to calculate this, we need to make the fractions have a common denominator. to do that, we find the smallest multiple that both 8 and 4 share. luckily 4 is a factor of 8, so we only need to change the one fraction.
to change 3/4 to have a denominator of 8, we will multiply the fraction by 2/2 since whatever you do to the bottom you must also do to the top.
3/4 * 2/2 = 6/8
now we can add the fractions to see how many miles were walked.
6/8 + 3/8 = 9/8, which can be simplified to 1 1/8 miles.
hope this helps!

  • \frac{(3 \times 4) + (3 \times 8)}{8 + 4}  \\  \\  =  \frac{12 + 24}{32} \\  \\  =  \frac{36}{32}  \\  \\  \frac{36 \div 4}{32 \div 4}  =  \frac{9}{8}  \\  \\  \frac{9}{8}  = 1 \frac{1}{8} \\  \\ therefore \: the \: answer \: is \: 1 \frac{1}{8}

Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

4 out of 5 games is 80%:

So if we know, as a rule that "Joel scores in 80% of his games.", the probability that he will score in 80% of his games is 1 - that is, we know it for sure

Aleksandr [31]
So it is an isosceles triangle that means that the bottom two angles are equal...
so
40 = 5x
divide both sides by 5 and you get 8

now the triangle angles add up to 180
we make an equation out of it...
(2y + 20 ) + ( 5(8)) + 40 = 180
2y + 20 + 40 + 40 = 180
combine like terms
2y + 100 = 180
so subtract 100 from both sides
2y = 80
divide by 2 to isolate the variable
y = 40

You are correct!!! :)

Sierra has plotted two vertices of a rectangle at (3,2) and (8,2). What is the length of the sides of the rectangle
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

5units

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the two vertices of a rectangle at (3,2) and (8,2). We are to calculate the distance between the two points.

Using the formula

D = √(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²

D = √(2-2)²+(8-3)²

D = √0+5²

D =  √25

D = 5

Hence the length of the side of the rectangle is 5units
