The parts of one nucleotide a nitrogenous bases (labels C and D), a pentose sugar (labels B and E) and phosphate group (labels A and F).

What is a nucleotide?

A nucleotide is a building block of nucleic acids (either DNA or RNA) that form the genetic material of an individual.

Phosphate groups form the backbone of the double helix and bind to pentose sugars in adjacent nucleotides.

Nitrogenous bases bind opposite DNA strands by hydrogen bonds, they include Adenine (A), Guanine (G), Cytosine (C) and Thymine (T).

In this case, the labels include:

 • Label A: phosphate
 • Label B: deoxyribose sugar
 • Label C: nitrogenous base
 • Label D: nitrogenous base
 • Label E: ribose sugar
 • Label F: phosphate

In conclusion, the parts of one nucleotide a nitrogenous bases (labels C and D), a pentose sugar (labels B and E) and phosphate group (labels A and F).

A population of rabbits follows the typical pattern of inheritance and the law of dominance for fur color. B is the allele for b
Ostrovityanka [42]

The law of dominance states that the recessive genes are always masked by the dominant genes.

The genes for brown fur will mask those for white fur.

If there are 160 bunnies then 120 of them have brown fur and 40 have white fur.

Thus, 40 bunnies should be white according to the Punnett square.

True or false: homologous chromosomes separate during mitosis?
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

Homologous chromosomes do not function the same in mitosis as they do in meiosis. Prior to every single mitotic division a cell undergoes, the chromosomes in the parent cell replicate themselves. The homologous chromosomes within the cell will ordinarily not pair up and undergo genetic recombination with each other.

3. Suppose you are viewing a sample from a PURE culture and observe both red and purple cocci. What are the possible problems th
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

The culture might not be stained properly or the culture might be too old.

Explanation:

Gram staining is done to differentiate between gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria according to the difference in their cell wall. In gram staining, the gram-positive bacteria appears violet and gram-negative bacteria appear pink in color.

Therefore if a pure culture contains have both red and purple cocci that it can be concluded that the gram stating was not done properly like too much destaining was done or too much safranin was used or maybe the culture is too old so that cell wall of some bacteria degrades.
