Tell whether the sequence is arithmetic. If it is, what is the common difference?
-BARSIC- [3]
To tell whether the the sequence is arithmetic, we try to see if there is a common difference between the terms in the sequence. We do as follows:

1 1/2 - 1 1/3 = 1/6
1 1/3 - 1 1/6 = 1/6

Therefore, the sequence is arithmetic and the common difference is 1/6. Hope this answers the questions. Have a nice day.

Thanks in advance! the image below is my question
ankoles [38]
Since opposite angles are the same:
angle DEC = 130

We know angle BEC + AED = 360 - 130*2
Since angles in a circle add up to 360 degrees:
BEC + AED = 360 - 260
BEC + AED = 100
This means that BEC = 50 and
                           AED = 50

Now that we know 2 angles in the triangle CEB we can work out y:
y = 180 - 50 - 70
y = 60 degrees
