<span>WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGThe incumbent must be able to walk continuously for the entire tour of duty. He/She will transport patients from day surgery to the operating room, and to various units and wards. He/She will assist with the safe continuous flow of patients to and from day surgery throughout the day. Must work effectively with teams to assemble appropriate positioning devices, position patients and handle specialized equipment. Maintain supplies and equipment. Duties also include medication pick up, lab delivery, and escorting patient families to alternate location throughout the facility. The incumbent will also assist in maintaining a safe, clean environment for the day surgery unit.</span><span>WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD BECertification as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) by a State is a basic requirement for all grade levels (unless you are grandfathered, meaning you were employed as a permanent nursing assistant with the dept. of veterans affairs on march 24, 2014) . CNAs must maintain a full, active and unrestricted certification to remain qualified for employment. Loss of certification will result in removal from the GS-621 CNA series and may result in termination of employment. Ability to provide a range of patient/resident care and contribute to the completion of the nurse care plan and recovery of patients/residents. Ability to observe patients/residents or residents physical or emotional status and refer deviations and/or problems to supervisor in a timely manner. Ability to properly use equipment, materials and supplies in simple diagnostic and treatment procedures such as bladder scan, continuous passive motion device, blood glucose monitoring machine, specimen collection, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with patients/residents, their families and other health professionals.</span><span>REQUIRED SCHOOLING / TRAININGDegree that included 24 semester hours of courses related to health care or possession of a bachelor degree.</span><span>WHO IS THE CLIENT COMPANY<span>Client company provides healthcare service.</span></span>
