First position choice:   4 numbers

Second                         6 numbers

Third                             6

Fourth                           6

       TOTAL 4 digit numbers   4 * 6 * 6 * 6 = 864 combos

             2 out of 6 of these will end in 3 or 5  (thus making an odd number)

                    864 * 2/6 = 288 such numbers
