Hey!

Let's take the first question, we have to turn the equation C = 5/9 (F − 32) into a formula that correctly solves for F.  First, let's switch the sides of the equation.
\frac{5}{9}\left(F-32\right)=C
Divide both sides by 5/9. We are doing this to undo the multiplication.
\frac{\frac{5}{9}\left(F-32\right)}{\frac{5}{9}}=\frac{C}{\frac{5}{9}}
F-32=\frac{9C}{5}
Add 32 to both sides.
F-32+32=\frac{9C}{5}+32
F=\frac{9C}{5}+32
We have successfully gotten the formula to get F.

For the second question, we could use a graph for this. Since we want to reach the 400, then the inequality should reach that too. We should be careful though, since the profit will depend on the number of books you will sell, then the profit should be on the y-axis, and the number of books should be on the x-axis. The answer would be <span>50 ≤ x ≤ 100
</span>
For the third question, we can also infer that the 35 students that did not like skating should represent the 25% of the students. So, we could set up a proportion.

\frac{35}{25} = \frac{x}{75}
We would then multiply, and then divide.
(35*75)/25=105
Now we know that the number of students who liked skating was 105 students.

I need explanations for Mathematical Proofs.
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

Proofs employ logic expressed in mathematical symbols, along with natural language which usually admits some ambiguity. In most mathematical literature, proofs are written in terms of rigorous informal logic.

According to Bleiler-Baxter & Pair [22], for a mathematician, a proof serves to convince or justify that a certain statement is true. But it also helps to increase the understanding of the result and the related concepts. That is why a proof also has the role of explanation.

There are many different ways to go about proving something, we'll discuss 3 methods: direct proof, proof by contradiction, proof by induction. We'll talk about what each of these proofs are, when and how they're used. Before diving in, we'll need to explain some terminology.

Although I will focus on proofs in mathematical education per the topic of the question, first and foremost proofs are so hard because they involve taking a hypothesis and attempting to prove or disprove it by finding a counterexample. There are many such hypotheses that have (had) serious monetary rewards available.

In logic and mathematics, a formal proof or derivation is a finite sequence of sentences (called well-formed formulas in the case of a formal language), each of which is an axiom, an assumption, or follows from the preceding sentences in the sequence by a rule of inference.

All mathematicians in the study considered proofs valuable for students because they offer students new methods, important concepts and exercise in logical reasoning needed in problem solving. The study shows that some mathematicians consider proving and problem solving almost as the same kind of activities.

Can someone help me with this ONE question? Write an equation.. and solve for X
matrenka [14]

Answer:

Equation: 720=(8x-1)+110+(5x+36)+116+(7x+19)+(6x-2)

x=17

Step-by-step explanation:

A 6 sided polygon is 720° degrees

so

720=(8x-1)+110+(5x+36)+116+(7x+19)+(6x-2)

Simplify

720=(8x+5x+7x+6x)+(−1+110+36+116+19+−2)

Combine like terms:

720=26x+278

flip equation:

26x+278=720

subtract 278 from both sides

26x=442

divide by 26 both sides:

x=17

Hope this helps.
