To add the bushes and trees, to get 19 bushes and 6 trees, but this wouldn't get me anywhere, because I don't have subtotals for the bushes and trees.

So I'll pick variables (b for the number of bushes and t for the number of trees) and set up a system of equations:

first order: 13b + 4t = 487

second order: 6b + 2t = 232

Multiplying the second row by –2, I get:

13b + 4t = 487

–12b – 4t = –464

This says that b = 23.

Back-solving, I get that t = 47.

Of course, the exercise didn't ask for the values of the two variables. Translating back into English, the solution is,

each bush is $23 and each tree is $47.

What are the slope and the y-intercept of the linear function that is represented by the equation y=-10x+1
RUDIKE [14]
<h3>Answer:</h3>

The slope is -10 and the y-intercept is 1.

<h3>Explanation:</h3>

This function is written in slope-intercept form, which is y=mx+b.  In this form, m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

In this case, m=-10 and b=1, so those are the answers to this problem.

The average length of an animal's life is related to the average length of pregnancy for that type of animal. The scatter plot s
N76 [4]

The outlier in the scatter plot as represented is the 50 year old animal.

<h3>Outlier in a scatter plot</h3>

From statistical point of view, an outlier is a data point which differs significantly from other data points.

The outlier may be attributed to variability in the measurement or it may indicate experimental error; the latter are sometimes excluded from the data set.

Hence, it follows that the outlier is the 50 year old animal data point.

ryan deposits $775 in an account that pays 1.24% simple interest for four years. Brian deposits $775 in an account thats 1.24% s
AleksAgata [21]

Answer:

Principal (p) = $775

Rate of interest (r) = 4.24% = 0.0424

No of years/time (t) = 4 years

Simple interest = ptr

= 775 × 4 × 0.0424

= 131.44 dollars

Hence simple interest after 4 years is $131.44

Amount = simple interest + principal

= 775 + 131.44

= 906.44 dollars

Hence amount after 4 years is $906.44

RESULT

906.44 dollars
