Answer:

x = 11.85

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2+(x-4)^2=202

x^2+(x-4)(x-4)=202

x^2 + x^2 - 4x - 4x + 16 = 202

2x^2 - 8x + 16 = 202

2x^2 - 8x - 186 = 0

Apply the quadratic equation and you'll get x as:

x=11.85 or x=-7.85

x cannot be negative

therefore x = 11.85

Which of the following appear in the diagram below?? check all that apply
bulgar [2K]

Check all options:

A. The notion \overleftrightarrow{YX} represents the line YX. As you can see the line YX is present in the diagram.

B. Start with point Z, go to the point X and then to the point Y. You path is along ∠ZXY sides, this means that you can see ∠ZXY on the picture.

C. The notion \overrightarrow{ZX} represents the ray ZX. On the picture is given segment ZX, not ray, then this option is false.

D. To form the ∠XYZ you have to connect points Z and Y. Without this connection ∠XYZ cannot be seen. This option is false.

Answer: True options are A and B.

Prove algebraically what type of function this is (even, odd, or neither).<br>f(x) = x^6 – x^4
Savatey [412]

Let's see.

We have function f(x)=x^6-x^4. We have to determine if the function is even or odd or neither.

We can find this out in many ways but the assignment specifically asks to prove this algebraically.

Function is even if f(x)=f(-x), so, x^6-x^4=(-x)^6-(-x)^4

Which is true since negative raised to an even power is positive to that same number.

Similarly, function is odd if f(x)=-f(-x), that is,

x^6-x^4\neq-((-x)^6-(-x)^4).

So we have prooved that function f(x) is an even function not an odd function and therefore also not neither.

Hope this helps.

Can someone please help me on this question? This question has 2 answer choices. Thank you.
grin007 [14]
Hello!

To solve this you have to find the ratio between the two cylinders

Cylinder 1 height is 30
Cylinder 2 height is 20

this is a 30:20 ratio

This can be reduced to a 3:2 ratio

Now you look for one that are also equal to 3:2

3 * 7 = 21
2 * 7 = 14

The answers are 3:2 and 21:14

Hope this helps!
