Plessy v. Ferguson can be described as the  landmark of the U.S. Supreme Court decision on segregation in 1896.

This was based on the constitutionality of racial segregation and was upheld, it was a controlling legal precedent and found solution to the racial segregation and this positively affect the live of both North and south because it reduces friction.
