y = x^2+10x

Add the square of the half of coefficient of x to have;

y = x^2+10x + (10/2)²- (10/2)²

y = x^2 + 10x  + 25 - 25

y = (x+5)² - 25

Hence the resulting equation on using the completing the square is y = (x+5)² - 25
