It's a form of weathering. If water gets into a crack in a rock and then freezes, it will expand, causing the crack to get bigger, which can happen continuously.

I hope this is the type of answer you wanted. :)

ANSWER:

Water seeps into cracks in rocks, freezes, then expands (since ice occupies a slightly larger volume than liquid water). This expansion pushes the sides of the cracks further apart. ... Rocks can slowly break down by a mechanism known as freeze-thaw weathering, or alternatively, frost wedging.

Nuetrik [128]

scale

Explanation:

A scale is usually found on a map and it shows the relationship between real life dimensions and map projections.

Maps are two dimensional representation of the the three dimensional world. When properly understood we can easily be properly guided and not have problems involving understanding the real life dimensions.

 • A scale shows the representation factor used in moving from the real world to the map projection.
 • There are different ways to represent scales on a map. Some use words, others use a bar scale and most maps are written with representative fractions.

Today, Shintoism is practiced alongside __________.
nikdorinn [45]
The answer is B. Buddhism. This is because Buddhism, which started in India, came to Japan and became a major religion. The local Japanese people already had their own religion (which focused on nature's spirits and the spirits of their ancestors), so they took some of the beliefs of Buddhism and mixed it with their own cultural beliefs. I hope this helps!

wel

Answer:

As explained below.

Explanation:

 • As the sedimentary and igneous and metamorphic rocks are distinct from each other as they appear on the landscape but show similar internal properties and thus allowing us to recognize them from a distance.
 • Sedimentary Rocks range from shake sandstone to limestone and conglomerate. While Metamorphic i.e foliated being Slate, Phyllite, Schist, and Gneiss, etc. While the Nonfoliated Metamorphic rocks are Quartzite and Marble.
 • Rocks revolve in there set rock cycle forming distinctive and newer rocks over the geologic time scale of earth. As each rock type is altered with force to produce the fro example a basalt rock when subducted and could be merged with the mantel to form in the water cycle.
 • As these are called secondary changes in the evolutionary phases of rocks which then can transition into metamorphic rocks through the process of mountain building in the orographic belts.
 • As a result, other rocks are recrystallized to form a sedimentary rock in its next phase which is unstable and subject to weathering. Transitions deeply impact the chemical and physical properties of rocks.
