The slope of line AB, BC, CD and AD are 1, -1/6, 2, -4/6 respectively. Quadrilateral ABCD with the given vertices is not a parallelogram because neither pair of opposite sides is parallel. Option C

<h3>How to determine the slope</h3>

Formula for slope is given as;

Slope = \frac{y2 -y1}{x2 -x1}

A(-4 -1)

B(-1 2)

C(5 1)

D(1 -3)

a. Slope of line AB = \frac{2- (-1)}{-1 (-4)} = \frac{2+ 1}{-1 + 4} = \frac{3}{3} = 1

b. Slope of line BC = \frac{1-2}{5-(-1)} = \frac{-1}{6}

c. Slope of line CD = \frac{-3 - 5}{1-5} = \frac{-8}{-4} = 2

d. Slope of line AD = \frac{-3 (-1)}{1 -(-4)} = \frac{-4}{5}

Quadrilateral ABCD with the given vertices is not a parallelogram because neither pair of opposite sides is parallel. Option C

Thus, the slope of line AB, BC, CD and AD are 1, -1/6, 2, -4/6 respectively.

and quadrilateral ABCD with the given vertices is not a parallelogram because neither pair of opposite sides is parallel. Option C

21. A square carpet has an area of 9 square meters.
blondinia [14]

Answer:

The answer is: 3 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The area is found by multiplying the width times the length. For a square, the length = the width.

Multiply 3 * 3 to get 9. So each side is 3 feet.

Please help and explain why you got it right please
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:

y+7 = -3 ( x-4)

Step-by-step explanation:

First find two points on the graph to find the slope

( 1,2) and ( 3,-4)

The slope is given by

m = ( y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = ( -4-2)/(3-1)

    = -6/2

    =-3

We can use the point slope form

y - y1 = m(x-x1)  where m is the slope and x1,y1 is a point on the line

We have two choices with a slope of -3

We can either use and x coordinate of -2 or 4

for  -2, the y coordinate is not shown

for 4 , the y coordinate is -7

Using ( 4, -7) and m = -3

y--7 = -3( x- 4)

y+7 = -3 ( x-4)

I don't get the subject of congruent triangles. How do I figure out if there's not enough information to know if it is congruent
babymother [125]

Answer:

Okay, there are many ways to find if a triangle is congruent.

Let's start with some different terminology.

For the sake of simplicity let us say that S stands for when a side is congruent for both triangles and A stands for when an angle (<) is congruent between both the triangles as well.

So, you need to memorize some rules. If you find that 2 triangles are congruent in the sense of; SSS, SAS, AAS, SAA, and ASA. One thing to remember is that Angle Side Side isn't congruent and is called <em>Donkey Theorem</em>. This theorem only works for right triangles.

One way to know if your triangle isn't congruent is if you can find a part of the triangle that is different.

I know that wasn't the best explanation but I hope it helped anyhow. :)

Sedaia [141]

Answer:

Left 7 down 6 Then count two spaces left right up and down and draw a circle

Step-by-step explanation:

Your answer is going to be in the bottom left corner, you count 7 vertical lines to the left, then from there you count 6 horizontal lines down. Since the Radius is 2 the diameter is 4. Good luck, if this wasn't helpful enough you can get a graphing calculator for yourself.
