Natalka [10]

Answer: x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

-10x - 2y = -30

3x + 2y =9

use elimination method...

-2y and 2y = 0

-10x = - 30

3x = 9

add together...

-7x = -21

solve...

x= 3

You are making pies to sell at a fundraiser. It costs $3 to make each pie, plus a one-time cost of $20 for a pastry blender and
alexdok [17]

3*pie(or p)+20

It is $5 per pie.

We know the answer has to end is 0 or 5 since all multiples of 5 end it those. The first time 3 goes into 0 or 5 is 15. (3*5=15). You substitute to get 3*5+20=35. You sell 7 pies because 7*5=35, which is the cost for the making of the pies and the rolling pins.

What is 20% of 55? (show work)
SCORPION-xisa [38]
I know that 20% is out of 100.If I changed this problem to be a fraction problem,I would change that percent to 20/100.55 would be the denominater of the other fraction.Right now we're trying to find the numerator for the denominator of 55 to make this a complete fraction.Secondly,I would try to find a common denominator to get my answer.I'm going to make the common denominator......5500.As my teacher always said what you do to the bottom you do to the top and it goes the other way around too.So, i will times 20*55 to get my numerator.This equals 1100.Now I would divide this fraction by 100 to get my finished answer.The answer is 11 is 20% of 50.

Use the compound interest formulas A = Pert and A = P(1+r/n)^nt to solve.
levacccp [35]
A = Pe^rt
P = 11,000 ; r = 6.25% ; t = 10 ; e = 2.7183 approximate

A = 11,000 e ^(0.0625 *10)
A = 11,000 e ^0.625
A = 11,000 * 2.7183^0.625
A = 11,000 * 1.868
A = 20,548

A = P (1 + r/n)^nt
P = 11,000 ; r = 6.3% ; n = 2 ; t = 10

A = 11,000 (1 + 0.063/2)^2*10
A = 11,000 (1 + 0.0315)^20
A = 11,000 (1.0315)^20
A = 11,000 (1.859)
A = 20,449

$11,000 invested at 6.25% compounded continuously over 10 years yields the greater return.
