An organism utilizes the energy released and the water molecules formed by the combination reaction of hydrogen gas (H₂) and oxygen gas (O₂).

The formation of water from the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen gas is an exothermic reaction. The reaction of two molecules of hydrogen gas (H₂) with one molecule of oxygen gas (O₂) requires a certain amount of activation energy to form one water molecule (H₂O).

Along with the formation of water molecules, a certain amount of energy is also released in the form of heat.

The balanced chemical reaction equation is: -

2H₂ + O₂ →  2H₂O

Therefore, the energy released by the above reaction is further utilized by the organism for its metabolism.

It aids in the maintenance of healthy immune function in kids and may reduce the frequency of mild upper respiratory tract infections. Calcium keeps the bones healthy and teeth thus supporting the skeletal structure and function. Iron is an important component of hemoglobin.
