The number of cards which must be drawn from the standard deck is 12.

Given a standard deck of cards.

We have to find the number of  cards to be drawn so that we will get atleast 3 cards from each suit. Because they have used atleast in the question so the cards can be more also so we have to reach at minimum level of cards to be drawn to guarantee atleast 3 cards of the same suit.

Number of suits in a  standard deck= 4 (Clubs, Hearts, Diamond,  Spades)

Cards in 1 suit=13

We need atleast 3 cards of the  same suit so we need atleast 3*4=12 cards. (3 from each suit)

Hence the minimum cards which must be drawn to get atleast 3 cards of the same suit is 12.

Find the perimeter of the colored part of the figure. The figure is composed of small squares with side-length 1 unit and curves
harina [27]

Answer:

16.56 in

Step-by-step explanation:

4 sides of the squares are exposed

The radius of each semicircle is 1 since they are against 2 squares.

2pi*r=circumfrence

2pi*1=6.28

6.28/2=3.14 because it's a semicircle

3.14*4=12.56 because there are 4 equal semicircles

12.56+4=16.56

Lucy has 4 more than 1/3 the number of pairs of socks as her sister. Lucy has at most 9 pairs of socks. How many pairs of socks
Volgvan

Answer: at most 15 pairs of socks

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of pair of socks of her sister be x , and let the number of pairs Lucy has be y.

Since , Lucy has 4 more than 1/3 the number of pairs of socks as her sister, this means that

\frac{1}{3}x + 4 = y    .............................. equation 1

Also ,  Lucy has at most 9 pairs of socks , this means that

y\leq 9 ....................................... equation 2

Equating the two equations , we have

\frac{1}{3}x + 4 \leq 9

multiply through by 3

x + 12\leq 27

subtract 12 from both sides

x\leq 15

Therefore , the sister has at most 15 pairs of socks
