The first four terms of the sequence are 8,12,16 and 20.

<h3><u>What is a Sequence?</u></h3>
  • A sequence is an enumerated group of items in mathematics where repetitions are permitted and order is important. Similar to a set, it has members (also called elements, or terms).
  • The length of the series is the number of elements (potentially infinite). In contrast to a set, the same items might appear more than once in a sequence at various points, and unlike a set, the order is important.
  • A sequence can be described formally as a function from natural numbers (the positions of the sequence's elements) to the items at each of those positions.
  • An indexed family, which is a function from an index set that may not be a set of numbers to another set of elements, can be thought of as a generalization of the idea of a sequence.

Given the function is f(n) = (2n+2)2

Now, we want first four terms, therefore, putting 1, 2, 3, 4 in the sequence we get:

f(1) = (2*1+2)2 = 8

f(2) = (2*2+2)2 = 12

f(3) = (2*3+2)2 = 16

f(4) = (2*4+2)2 = 20

Hence, The first four terms of the sequence are 8,12,16 and 20.

A bakery has 49 donuts and 28 muffins for sale. What is the ratio of muffins to donuts? Please answer ASAP 99 Points :V
Alik [6]
Hey there! :D

In a ratio, the first thing or item mentioned is first in the ratio. Let the muffins stand for x, and the donuts stand for y. It asks for the ratio of muffins to donuts.

x:y

Plug in the numbers.

28:49

Both numbers are divisible by 7.

28/7= 4 49/7=7

4:7 <=== simplified ratio

I hope this helps!

According to the University of Nevada Center for Logistics Management, 6% of all merchandise sold in the United States gets retu
KatRina [158]

Answer:  0.1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :  A Houston department store sampled 80 items sold in January and found that 8 of the items were returned.

In other words, sample size : <em>n</em>=1040

Number of items returned : <em>x</em>= 8

Let <em>p</em> be the proportion of items returned for the population of sales transactions at the Houston store.

As per sample , the sample proportion of items returned for the population of sales transactions at the Houston store is :

\hat{p}=\dfrac{x}{n}=\dfrac{8}{80}=0.1

As we know that , <em>the sample proportion is the best estimate of the population proportion.</em>

Therefore,a point estimate of the proportion of items returned for the population of sales transactions at the Houston store is 0.1.

Assuming you meant is - \frac{3}{5} x+ \frac{1}{5} \ \textgreater \  720

The answer would be :
- \frac{3}{5} x\ \textgreater \ 719.8

x \ \textless \  \frac{719.8}{ \frac{-3}{5} }
x\ \textless \  719.8 *( \frac{-5}{3} )
x\ \textless \  \frac{-3599}{3}

Hope this helps !
