Answer:

Approximately \$ 3.02.

Explanation:

Note that the electric rate in this question is in the unit dollar-per-{\rm kWh}, where 1\; {\rm kWh} is the energy to run an appliance of power 1\; {\rm kW} for an hour.

Number of minutes for which the air conditioner is running in that day: 15 \times 24 = 360\; \text{minute}. Apply unit conversion and ensure that this time is measured in hours (same as the unit of the electric rate.)

\begin{aligned} \text{time} &= 360\; \text{minute} \times \frac{1\; \text{hour}}{60\; \text{minute}} = 6\; \text{hour} \end{aligned}.

The power of this air conditioner is:

\begin{aligned} \text{power} &= \text{voltage} \times \text{current} \\ &= 240\; {\rm V} \times 21\; {\rm A} \\ &= 5040\; {\rm W} \\ &= 5.04\; {\rm kW} \end{aligned}.

Thus, the energy that this air conditioner would consume would be:

\begin{aligned}\text{energy} &= \text{power} \times \text{time} \\ &= 5.04\; {\rm kW} \times 6\; \text{hour} \\ &= 30.24\; {\rm kWh} \end{aligned}.

At a rate of 0.1 dollar-per-{\rm kWh}, the cost of that much energy would be approximately 3.02 dollars (rounded to the nearest cent.)

Kryger [21]

Hey there!:

Take the speed of sound to be 343m/s.

Direct frequency perceived by observer:

(343 + 17) / 343) * 90Hz = 94.460Hz

Change in frequency = ( 4.460 - 90 ) = 4.460Hz.

90 - (4.460 x 2) = 81.08 Hz. indirect frequency heard by observer.

Therefore :

Beat frequency = (94.460 - 81.08) = 13.38Hz.

Hope this helps!

The uterus gets ready to nurture a fertilized egg by
lukranit [14]
By flooding the uterus with a rich supply of blood for the tissue that lines the inner side of the uterus and it is called the endometrium. This happens each month during the menstrual cycle, when the body with the help of hormones which have different levels in the different times of the cycle. When it is time to prepare the uterus for a fertilized egg, the blood vessels of the endometrium swell and supply more blood to the tissue.

In the case that a fertilized egg cell reaches the uterus, it will attach itself to the endometrium and this is the place where the fetus, and then the baby will start growing. The endometrium is the base for the growth of the placenta which is the main and most important factor for protection and nutrition of the baby.

Question 24(Multiple Choice Worth 2 points)
vladimir2022 [97]
Question 24.
The Environmental Protection Agency is a regulatory agency that protects human and environmental life. Because it is a regulatory agency, it oversees all actions that has a direct effect on the environment. Letter A could be an answer, but not the best. The EPA does not trust environmentalists because they still have to inspect the ship. Maybe the ship would drive away fishes from their aquatic homes which would cause an imbalance in the ecosystem. So, the best answer would be letter C.

Question 25:
Gravity is a force of attraction that acts as the pull towards the object's center. According to Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation, the force of gravity is directly proportional to the mass, and inversely proportional to distance. The heavier and nearer the objects are, the greater the force of gravity. Every object in the world is acted upon by gravity, whether at rest or moving. Therefore, the answer is <span>B.

Question 26:
Power is the amount of work done per unit time. So, if time is not changed and work increases, the power will have to increase as well. The answer is C.

Question 27:
In electricity, the power of the load in a circuit is equal to the product of its voltage and current. Therefore, voltage and current are directly proportional to power. But they are inversely proportional to each other. So, if voltage increases, the power also increases. Therefore, the answer is B.

Question 28:
Hybrid cars work on the energy both coming from oil and electricity. Electricity is a more expensive fuel than oil. So, you will expect that hybrid cars are much more expensive. Electricity comes from batteries, which is made up of electrolyte solutions of metals. They are non-renewable source as well. The only advantage is that, batteries do not emit pollutant gases unlike oil. These gases deteriorate the ozone layer which protects the Earth from exposure to UV rays. Therefore, the answer is B.</span>

A ball is thrown upward from the ground with an initial speed of 25 m/s; at the same instant, another ball is dropped from a bui
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

t = o.6 s

Explanation:

Let ball thrown from below be A and ball dropped from above be B.

A and B meet when they both are same level above the ground. Then let A moved up a distance d and B dropped a distance h. Then you know

d + h = 15 m  ---------------(1)

Now apply s = ut + \frac{1}{2}at²

To A upwards,

d = 25t - \frac{1}{2}gt²  -----------------(2)

To B downwards,

h = 0 + \frac{1}{2}gt² ----------------(3)

(1) = (2) + (3) ⇒ 15 = 25t

                         t = 0.6 s

Amy gets up from her seat on a train to move closer to the front. Just as she begins to walk forward, the train stops at a stati
Ivahew [28]
Have you ever been in a bus, a train, or a car ?
What happens to you when it stops suddenly ?

A body in motion continues in motion unless
an external force acts on it and makes it stop.

Amy's body keeps moving forward when the train stops.
She pitches forward, and if she doesn't reach out and grab
a seat or a seated person, she may lose her footing and fall
on her face.

Choice - 'A' is a very good explanation.
The other choices aren't.

'C' is a good hunch, but it only applies to her feet.
The rest of her keeps going.

'D' is nonsense.  There are no mysterious forces of
'repulsion' or 'attraction' on the train.
