Sound intensity, serves as the  power that is been carried by sound waves per unit area and this is usually in the direction perpendicular to that area.

we were given the  function I =  \frac{P}{4pir^2}

r  represent the Distance from the source of sound

P represent the Power of the sound

when there is increase in the  distance from the source the intensity moves to zero.

we can see that there is is an inverse proportion between the Intensity and the distance r  which implies that The intensity decreases  when the distance increases.
