<h3>What is Emphysema?</h3>

A condition in lungs due to which shortness of breath occurs. People with emphysema, alveoli( air sacs present in the lungs) are damaged.

After some time the inner portion of the air sacs weaken and rupture that create large air spaces instead of many small ones .

Due to this  reason the surface area of the lungs reduces and in turn the amount of oxygen that reaches to the blood stream.

The main symptoms of emphysema are coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and wheezing.

Therefore, emphysema involves damage to alveoli. Thus,option D is correct.
