During late adulthood, an important function of sibling relationships is reminiscing and validating memories. this rewarding process can occur once any long-standing issues or rivalries are resolved.

Research have proved associations between family connections and a variety of well- being issues. Yet, sibling relationships, the longest continuing connections in utmost people's lives, have entered veritably little exploration attention beyond young adulthood. Results showed that aged grown-ups reported high situations of sibling warmth and low situations of sibling conflict and parental favoritism.

Sisters had warmer sibling connections than other gender- combinations. Sibling conflict and parental favoritism were appreciatively associated with symptoms of depression, anxiety, hostility, and loneliness. Loneliness incompletely inter mediated the associations between sibling relationship quality and well- being.
