Horizontal distance between two boats = x = 24m
One boat is at trough, the other is at crest.
As there is no crests between them meaning the boat are next to each other.
Wavelength is the distance between two consecutive crests/troughs = w
The distance between a crest and a trough next to it = w/2
Complete cycles = c = 4
Time taken for c cycles = t = 12s
Vertical distance between two boats = y = 3.6m

To find:
wavelength = w = 2(x) = 48m
Amplitude =  A = Displacement from mean to extreme position = y/2 = 1.8m
Time period for one cycle = T = t/c = 12/4 = 3 s/cycle
frequency = 1/T = 1/3 = 0.33 hertz
speed = wavelength/Period = w/T = 48/3 = 16m/s

How does friction affect basketball ad what is an example?
kaheart [24]
It affects basketball in a way called traction. The friction between the players' basketball shoes and the hard wooden floor is traction, or friction. Without it, players would slide everywhere and wouldn't be able to play the game.

People who are exceptionally tall (like seven feet and over) often have a disorder that causes them to keep growing past the age
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

C is the answer

Explanation:

The pituitary gland also known as the Master gland controls and regulates secretion of most hormones, when taller people usually grow past expected height this is normally due to the Pituitary gland not properly regulating and it secretes too many growth hormones causing "gigantism."

Water starts off its existence as a polarized molecule. A stream of water is deflected towards a nearby electrically charged obj
trapecia [35]

Answer:

Option d) can not be determined from the given information

Explanation:

Water is a polar molecule consisting of 2 positive hydrogen atoms and a negative oxygen atom.

When a stream of water is deflected by positively charged object, the water molecules are oriented in such a way that oxygen  in water, being negatively charge gets attracted to the charged object and aligns near the object whereas hydrogen aligns on the opposite side overcoming the inter-atomic repulsion.

Similar is the case with hydrogen in case the object is negatively charged.

Therefore, it explains that water is a polar molecule and gets attracted to both positive and negative charges and hence, the sign of the object can not be determined.
