The north American region that has undergone the most change in recent decades is the southern part of north America.

There are two regions that make up the south of North America. These are the Caribbean and Central America. There are still identifiable regions in the continent's north .Cities in the southern and western parts of the United States have had strong population expansion  and rapid growth since 2010.

New population estimates for cities and towns, released today by the Census Bureau, show that the South is the region with the strongest population growth, accounting for 10 of the top 15 significant U.S. cities with a population of 50,000 or more. Overall, the South continues to have higher growth than any other U.S. area for large cities with populations of 50,000 or more.
