Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

money given by parents = $300

earning per hour = $8.5

0.2 × 8.5 = $1.7

y = saving for college

x = hours he worked

y = saving from wages + given by parents

y = 1.7x + 300

60 miles per hour and 55 miles per hour it will be 240 miles over 4 hours because if you divide 240 by 4 it is 60 miles faster than the other which is 55 miles per hour.

How do I solve this problem
zysi [14]
You need to simplify it
lets start with your orgininal equation here:
-5+3x=10
Now lets try and get "x" alone. we will do this by adding 5 to both sides.
-5+3x=10
+5       +5
3x=15
Now we have 3 times "x" equals 15
The next step would be to divide both sides by 3 in order to get "x" alone.
3x=15
x=15/3
x=5
