Answer: (-2, 1), (-4, -3)

Step-by-step explanation:

y = x² + 8x + 13

y = 2x+5

x² + 8x + 13 = 2x+5

x² + 6x + 13 = 5

x² + 6x + 8 = 0

x² + 2x + 4x + 8 = 0

(x+2)(x+4)=0

<u>x=-2 or x=-4</u>

y=2(-2)+5

y=-4+5

<u>y=1</u>

y=2(-4)+5

y=-8+5

<u>y=-3</u>

<em>Note: Since you missed to add the image, so after a little research, I was able to find the image related to this question, which hopefully serves the purpose to clear your concept. The image is attached below.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<em><u>Part 1) What is the slope for section "d" of Mrs. Washington's commute</u></em>

Calculating the slope for section "d" of Mrs. Washington's commute:

Slope of the section d  =\frac{y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}

\frac{6 - 0}{32 - 20}=\frac{1}{2}=0.5

<em><u>Part 2) What does it mean that the slope is negative in context of the problem?</u></em>

The slope is being negative as it is moving downward from the left. In negative slop, the value of x increase, while the vale of y decreases. In positive slop, the value of both x and y increases.

<em><u>Part 3) Why are the slopes different over different intervals?</u></em>

Slopes are different at different intervals as the distance covered in time taken for each part of the given journey are different, also the speed is not the same for each interval.

As the speed can be calculated as

Speed\:=\:\frac{distance}{time}\:

Distance = y_{2} -y_{1} = 20 - 15 = 5

Time = x_{2} -x_{1}= 8 - 0 = 8

Speed = \frac{5}{8}=0.625

Therefore, the speed in the part 1 is 0.625 ms^{-1}

<em><u>Part 4) How long does it take Mrs. Washington to get home? How did you know this?</u></em>

It is clear from the graph that does take 32 minutes to her to get home.

We can observe it from the graph that it represents the total time taken across the entire journey.

<h2>Greetings!</h2>

Answer:

x = 67.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Because AB and NP lines are parrallel, we can find out the scale factor by dividing size MA by MN.

This works because you find out what the MA size has to be multiplied to to get to MN, which will also work in reverse to find angle MB from MP.

71.5 - 22 = MA = 49.5

71.5 ÷ 49.5 = \frac{13}{9}

So to get to line MP length, line MB had to be multiplied by \frac{13}{9} to get 97.5

The reverse of this is dividing 97.5 by \frac{13}{9}:

97.5 ÷ \frac{9}{13} = 67.5

So x = 67.5

<h2>Hope this helps!</h2>

Write the equation for (-8, -8), with a slope if three
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

Part--1:

We know that a equation in point-slope form is represented by:

<em> y-y1=m</em>

<em />

where m is the slope of the line and  is a point through which the line passes.

<em />

<em>               </em>

<em />

 Consider a equation in a point-slope form as:

This means that the slope of the line is: 5

and the line  passes through the point (1,5).

Part--2:

Now as we know that if a line has a slope as m then the perpendicular line has a slope: -1/m

Since,

Let this perpendicular line passes through (2,6)

Hence, the equation of a line in point slope form is given by:
