The anterior (front) lobe of the pituitary gland releases a variety of hormones that affect growth, physical and sexual development, and other endocrine glands. Over-secretion or under-secretion of certain hormones can cause diseased condition.

Anterior Pituitary Disorders caused by the excessive or less production of Hormones :

1. Growth hormone : Lack of growth hormone in growing youngsters causes small stature and/or extremely

sluggish growth rates. The signs of growth hormone deficit in older kids are more difficult to pinpoint but can include inadequate muscle mass, brittle bones, and low energy.

Disease name - Acromegaly and Gigantism

2. Prolactin : Delayed puberty

3. ACTH and Cortisol : Due to insufficient production of the stress hormone cortisol by the adrenal glands, this condition is also known as central adrenal insufficiency. If not identified and adequately treated, this illness may be fatal. Low blood pressure, weakness, thirst, abdominal pain, weight loss, and trouble recovering from illnesses or surgery are all symptoms of ACTH insufficiency.

Disease name : Cushing's disease

4. Gonadotropin deficiency: FSH (follicular stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) are responsible for initiating and maintaining puberty. These hormones stimulate the testes to make testosterone in boys and the ovaries to make estrogen in girls. Deficiencies in FSH and LH can result in a failure of puberty to start or a disruption in normal pubertal progression.

5. TSH deficiency: hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone levels) results when there is not enough TSH made to stimulate the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormone. Hypothyroidism can result in fatigue, constipation, dry skin, brittle hair, poor growth, feeling cold all the time, and disruptions to normal periods in girls.

6. Hypopituitarism : also called an underactive pituitary gland, is a condition that affects the anterior (front) lobe of the pituitary gland - usually resulting in a partial or complete loss of functioning of that lobe. The resulting symptoms depend on which hormones are no longer being produced by the gland.

s344n2d4d5 [400]
The true difference between the two cells is prokaryotes
a microscopic single-celled organism that has neither a distinct nucleus with a membrane nor other specialized organelles. On the other hand, Eukaryotes are organisms consisting of a cell or cells in which the genetic material is DNA in the form of chromosomes contained within a distinct nucleus. Eukaryotes include all living organisms other than the eubacteria and archaebacteria.

Why the dates on the geologic time scale are often changed and updated.
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

Absolute time measurements can be used to calibrate the relative time scale, producing an integrated geologic or "geochronologic" time scale. ... The overall duration and relative length of these large geologic intervals is unlikely to change much, but the precise numbers may "wiggle" a bit as a result of new data.

Explanation:

Hope this helps :)

How do plants obtain glucose !!
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:

During photosynthesis, plants trap light energy with their leaves. Plants use the energy of the sun to change water and carbon dioxide into a sugar called glucose. Glucose is used by plants for energy and to make other substances like cellulose and starch. Cellulose is used in building cell walls.
