This is also known as mini stroke and is caused a temporary disruption in the flow of blood to the brain. During this period oxygen doesn't get to the brain as a result of the blood carrying oxygen and other nutrients which are needed for the survival of body cells.

The cause of transient ischemic attacks (tias) to a client is Atherosclerotic plaques within arteries which could be as a result of build up of cholesterol within the blood vessels which clogs it and prevents the heart from pumping adequate blood to other parts of the body.
