In response to a decrease in the concentration of blood oxygen, the kidneys secrete erythropoietin.

In the field of biology, erythropoietin can be described as a hormone that helps in the production of red blood cells (RBC). As red blood cells are the sites that carry oxygen in the blood, more red blood cells mean that the concentration of oxygen will increase inside the blood.

Erythropoietin, which is also referred to as haematopoietin, is produced inside the kidneys. The interstitial cells of the kidneys are the main sites for the production of erythropoietin.

Erythropoietin is produced by the kidneys as a kind of response mechanism when there are decreased levels of oxygen inside the blood. When the oxygen level in the blood reaches a normal level, the production of this hormone is lowered by the kidneys.

Although part of your question is missing, you might be referring to this full question:

In response to a decrease in concentration of blood __________, the kidneys secrete __________.

calcium; renin

oxygen; erythropoietin

sodium; aldosterone

potassium; ADH

glucose; insulin

pishuonlain [190]

When you are exposed to bright light, cells in the retina detect the stimulus and send it to the brain for processing. The brain commands the iris to constrict and decrease pupil size.

The structure that serves as a receptor in this system is Retina

How can we see the object?

Organisms adapted and evolved the eyes to see the surrounding environment. This ability to see begins when the visible wavelength of light enters the eye through a transparent covering called Cornea. The light enters the cornea and enters the inner of the eye through a round hole known as the pupil.

The light rays then enter the convex-shaped lens in the eye which focuses the beam of light on the back of the eye in the region of the tissue called the retina. The retina contains the photoreceptor cells-rods and cones in which the cone cells have the ability to detect three wavelengths of light especially blue, green and red which help us see various versions of the colour.

These cells convert light energy to chemical energy in the form of the action potential which gets transmitted to the part of the brain associated with the vision. This completes the pathway of the vision.

Thus, Retina is the answer.

Which molecule is active first during DNA replication? A. Adenine B. Helicase enzyme C. DNA ligase D. DNA polymerase
julia-pushkina [17]
Helicase. It unwinds and breaks the hydrogen bonds so other molecules can move on to the DNA strand and begin replication.

Complete the model of the lactic acid fermentation process.
Zina [86]
For the process of transformation of glucose into pyruvate, NAD⁺ is converted into NADH. These same NADH molecules are then reutilised on the pyruvate to lactic acid reaction and are therefore transformed back into NAD⁺ molecules that will again be used for another glycolysis reaction.
From the first rectangle, on the left, to the last rectangle, on the right, it comes NAD⁺ - NADH - NADH - NAD⁺.
