The complete table of truth value for the composite proposition:

       p           q          ¬ q          p ∨ ¬ q            (p ∨ ¬ q) ⇒ q

       T           T             F              T                           T

       T           F             T              T                           F

       F           T             F              T                           T

       F           F             T              T                           F

How to fill a truth table with composite propositions

In mathematics, propositions are structures that contains a truth value. There are two truth values in classic logics: True, False. Composite propositions are the result combining simpler propositions and operators. There are the following logic operators and rules:

  1. Negation changes the truth value of the proposition into its opposite.
  2. Disjunction brings out "true" value when at least one of the two propositions is so.
  3. Conjunction brings out "true" value when the two propositions are so.
  4. Conditional form brings out "true" value when both propositions are true or only the consequent is true or both propositions are false.

Now we present the complete table of truth value for the composite proposition:

       p           q          ¬ q          p ∨ ¬ q            (p ∨ ¬ q) ⇒ q

       T           T             F              T                           T

       T           F             T              T                           F

       F           T             F              T                           T

       F           F             T              T                           F

Montano1993 [528]

The temperature 6 hours after day break is 53 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

The temperature was 65 degrees at daybreak. Then it dropped two degrees per hour until dusk. This decrease in temperature can be modeled by the equation,

y = -2x + 65

according to this equation

y= temperature after day break

x= no of hours ( in this case 6)

So equation becomes

y= -2 (6) +65

y=  65- 12

y=   53 degrees

So the temperature 6 hours after day break is 53 degrees

Use the Quadratic Formula
dem82 [27]

Answer:

1/2 and 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The quadratic formula is as given:

(  -b±√(b^2-4ac)  )/2a

To use it, plug in the a,b and c values.

ax^2+bx+c

In this case a is equal to 2, b is equal to -7, and c is equal to 3

plugging it into our formula gives us:

(-(-7)±√(-7^2-4*2*3)  )/2*2

Which is equal to:

7±√(49-24) / 4

= 7±√25 / 4

=7±5 / 4

=2/4, 12/4= 1/2, 3

A number plus half of the number,minus 20 is the same as one-fourth of the original number. What is the number?
LenaWriter [7]

Answer:

16

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number = x

x + x/2 - 20 = 1/4 x

3/2 x - 20 = 1/4x             Multiply by 4

3*2 x - 80 = x

6x - 80 = x

6x - x - 80 = 0

5x - 80 = 0

5x = 80

x = 16

Check

16 + 8 - 20 = 1/4 * 16

24 - 20 = 4

4 = 4
