3.8 is what in percent 1.9375 is what in percent
Slav-nsk [51]

we know 1.9375 is the 100%, what is 3.8 off of it in percentage?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 1.9375&100\\ 3.8&x \end{array}\implies \cfrac{1.9375}{3.8}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies 1.9375x=380 \\\\\\ x = \cfrac{380}{1.9375}\implies x \approx 196.129

let's notice that 3.8 is about twice as much as 1.9375.

sammy [17]

Answer:

  1. 36.00%
  2. 99.9976%

Step-by-step explanation:

Two mutually exclusive events that cover all possible events have a combined probability of 1.

1. If there is no middle ground—you either pass math or you don't—then the probability of not passing math this semester is 100% - 64% = 36%.

__

2. If there is no middle ground—you either win the lottery or you don't—then the probability of not winning the lottery is 100% - 0.0024% = 99.9976%.

I’m confused on this one
tatyana61 [14]

6\sqrt2

Why?

We have the isosceles right triangle. The length of legs are 6. Use the Pythagorean theorem:

h^2=6^2+6^2\\\\h^2=36+36\\\\h^2=36\cdot2\to h=\sqrt{36\cdot2}\\\\h=\sqrt{36}\cdot\sqrt2\\\\h=6\sqrt2

In general, the formula for calculating the hypotenuse in an isosceles right triangle is h=a\sqrt2

a - a leg, h - a hypotenuse
