The princess was in conflict with herself because of A. The princess knew what was behind each of the doors and had to decide which she wanted for her lover.

What is an internal conflict?

This is known as a struggle within a person's mind over a problem or a question.

In the story, The lady, or the tiger, it was seen that the princess was torn between the decision of her lover's fate.

She could let him live but suffer through seeing him with another woman. She could let him die a tragic death, but not have to see him in another relationship. Either way, the princess would not be completely happy.

Hence, the princess struggled as she was in an internal conflict over the problem of knowing what was behind the doors and having to decide the fate of her lover.
