Scientists are studying compounds in a newly discovered rainforest plant. The plant produces an unusual substance that local people say acts as an anesthetic. If another scientist tests the substance using iodine, the scientist testing for carbohydrates.

The existence of carbohydrates in leaves can be sampled by the Iodine test. When chlorophyll is removed from the leaf by boiling it in alcohol and then placing two drops of iodine solution it turns blue in color which indicates the presence of starch.

The iodine test is a test that is utilized to test for the existence of starch. The mixture of starch and iodine produces an extremely blue-black color.

What are three stages of interphase?
Lerok [7]

Answer:

There are three stages of interphase: G1 (first gap), S (synthesis of new DNA ), and G2 (second gap). Cells spend most of their lives in interphase, specifically in the S phase where genetic material must be copied. The cell grows and carries out biochemical functions, such as protein synthesis, in the G1 phase.

Fudgin [204]

Answer:

This is because fluids have a polar nature, so they couldn´t cross the lipidic bilayer that constitutes the plasma membrane

Explanation:

Plasma membranes are contituted by lipid bilayers. These kind of compounds are hidrophobic (they reject water) and don´t permit the freely passage of hidriphilic molecules that can disolve in water, constituing fluids. Because of that cells developed transport mechanism like endocytosis.

dem82 [27]

Answer: Systolic pressure.

Explanation:

Every time the heart beats, it pumps blood into the arteries, which are vessels through which blood circulates from your heart to your tissues with the oxygen and nutrients they need. Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the walls of the arteries, and is highest when the heart beats, pumping blood, which is measured as systolic pressure (i.e., when the heart contracts). On the other hand, diastolic blood pressure refers to the pressure of blood in the artery when the heart relaxes between beats (i.e., when the heart relaxes). Since there are two types of pressures, blood pressure readings are given in two numbers, with the top number being the systolic pressure and the bottom number being the diastolic pressure.

For example, if the systolic pressure measured in a person is 125 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) and the diastolic pressure is 85 mm Hg, the blood pressure is recorded as 125/85.

So, the systolic blood pressure is registered with the stethoscope when the cuff is deflated. When two heartbeats are heard, the pressure gauge reading is recorded. When the heartbeat ceases, the cuff pressure is released and the diastolic pressure is measured at this time.
