KF has the same type of crystal structure as NaCl.

Density is the substance's mass consistent with the unit of extent. The image most usually used for density is ρ, although the Latin letter D can also be used. Mathematically, density is defined as mass divided by using volume: {displaystyle rho ={frac {m}{V}}} wherein ρ is the density, m is the mass, and V is the extent.

Density is the range of factors—which can be people, animals, flora, or gadgets—in a positive area. To calculate density, you divide the variety of items by using the dimension of the vicinity. The population density of a country is the range of human beings in that united states divided by way of the place into square kilometers or miles.

Density describes how compact or focused something is. for instance, suppose you've got packing containers, one large and one small. however, they each weigh the same. that means the small field has a higher density than the huge box. Density additionally tells how focused or crowded something is.

The edge length of a unit cell of KF = 5.39 Å

The crystal lattice of NaCl is a face-centered cell, hence it must have 6 atoms in the faces, thus the total atoms = 6 ½ = 3 atoms. In the face-centered cell, the arrangements of atoms will be corner +face i.e 3 +1 atoms = 4 atoms.

Thus the total number of KF present in the unit cell is = 4

The molar mass of KF = 58.10 g

It is known that 1Ao = 10-12 m and 1 cm = 10-2 m

Now density can be calculated as,

Density = 2.464 2.64 g/cm3

Thus the density of KF is found to be 2.64 g/cm3.

The density of KF is 2.64 g/cm3.

What do you understand by Density?

The substance's mass per unit of volume is known as its density (volumetric mass density or specific mass). Although the Latin letter D may also be used, the sign most frequently used for density is (the lower case Greek letter rho). The formula for density is mass divided by volume:

ρ= \frac{m}{v}

where m is the mass, V is the volume and ρ is the density. Density is sometimes roughly characterized as weight per unit volume, while this is incorrect scientifically; this quantity is more precisely known as specific weight.

The edge length of a unit cell of KF = 5.39 Å

The crystal lattice of NaCl is a face-centered cell, hence it must have 6 atoms in the faces,

thus, the total atoms = 6 ½ = 3 atoms.

In the face-centered cell, the arrangements of atoms will be corner +face i.e 3 +1 atoms = 4 atoms.

Thus the total number of KF present in the unit cell is = 4

The molar mass of KF = 58.10 g

Now,

Density = 2.464 2.64 g/cm3

Thus, the density of KF is 2.64 g/cm3.

Which pair of substances would most likely result in the production of a gas when reacting with an acid?
vovangra [49]

Answer: metal and carbonate

Explanation:

According to Arrhenius concept, a base is defined as a substance which donates hydroxide ions (OH^-) when dissolved in water and an acid is defined as a substance which donates hydrogen ions (H^+) in water.

An acid is represented as :

HX\rightarrow H^++X^-

1. When metal is treated with an acid such as HCl, if the metal is more reactive than hydrogen displaces hydrogen from its salt solution and thus produce zinc chloride and hydrogen gas.

M+xHCl(aq)\rightarrow MCl_x(aq)+xH_2(g)

2. When carbonates are treated with acid, double displacement takes place ad carbon dioxide is released as a gas.

MCO_3(aq)+xHCl(aq)\rightarrow MCl_x(aq)+xH_2O(l)+CO_2(g)
