Despite differences in today's culture and society, Freud's ideas are still relevant today. Like the concept of conscious and unconscious, drives and personality structure.

Some theories should be complemented, and not left in the past, since every study serves as a starting point for further studies and improvements, such as the influence of childhood on the formation of individuals' personalities.

What are Freud's contributions?

Considered the father of psychoanalysis, he developed theories such as the notion of the psychic apparatus, the theory of drives and personality structure, as well as different methods for the treatment of mental illnesses.

Therefore, although many of his theories have been taken as pseudoscience, that is, theories that cannot be proven by scientific methodology, Freud's theories made room for greater inclusion of the study of the mind in medicine, considering the mind and emotions fields important for a holistic understanding of the human being.
