The constant of variation is 1/8.

What is variation?

The discrepancy among an ideal and real scenario is referred to as the Law of Variation. The most frequent manifestations of variation or variability are changes in the data, anticipated results, or minor changes in the quality of the output.

The types of variation are given below-

 • Where a variable is a fixed multiple of another, this is known as direct variation. For instance, my income varies directly (or proportionally) with the amount of hours I put in.
 • When one of the variables rises, the other one falls—this is known as inverse and indirect variation (product is constant). For instance, the length of time an air conditioner is operating has an indirect (equal or inverse) impact mostly on temperature in my home.
 • Joint variation occurs when at least two factors are directly associated. For instance, a triangle's base and height are both related to the triangle's area.

According to the question;

A quantity m varies jointly with p and r which shows that p and r in joint variation with m.

m ---> pr

m = kpr

where, k is the constant of variation.

m = 1, p = 2, r = 4.

Substitute the values in the relation,

1 = k(2)(4)

1 = 8k

k = 1/8

Therefore, the constant of variation is 1/8.

What is the answer to
gavmur [86]

Answer:

y = 3/4x+7

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope is 3/4 and a point is (-8,1)

We can use point slope to make an equation for the line

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-1 = 3/4(x--8)

y-1 = 3/4(x+8)

y-1 = 3/4x +6

Add 1 to each side

y-1+1 = 3/4 x+6+1

y = 3/4x+7

This is in slope intercept form (y=mx+b)

Answer:

54°

Step-by-step explanation:

Your triangle is isosceles. You have been given the third angle, and you have been asked to find the measure of one of the two equal angles. We know that the internal angles of a triangle sum to 180, so 72+x+x=180 \rightarrow 2x=108 \rightarrow x = 54

Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

-5/-2 or 2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Because you gave two points that I'm guessing are from the graph I think that's the answer. Because when you use the slope formula y2-y1 over x2 - x1 you get -5/-2 or you either get 2.5 meaning that is the slope specifically saying the rate of change. You get 2.5 when you divide -5/-2 incase you need a decimal or want to simplfy it.
