Chinese agriculture was introduced, Chinese dress and hairstyles were compulsory, Mandate of Heaven was embraced. However, there were numerous uprisings, unique languages, and more roles for women than in China. Japan willingly took from China. adopted Chinese calendar, Chinese court ceremonies, capital cities modelled after Chinese capital, encouraged Confucianism and Buddhism. However, as authority began to disperse, the military was praised rather than education.
