The nurse understands that a/an Electrocardiogram is used in the evaluation of cardiogenic shock.

Cardiogenic shock is a condition in which the heart suddenly can't pump and is unable to supply sufficient blood to the body.

This can be life threatening condition as blood supply to brain and vital organs are very essential for the functioning of the body. But it can treated if diagnosed and treated on time.

An electrocardiogram is a device that records the electrical signals from the heart to check the proper functioning of the heart. The electrodes are placed on the chest and other body parts to record the electrical signal of heart beating.
