The process that is responsible for the production of glucose in plants is photosynthesis.

What is photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is a chemical process in which organic matter is formed from inorganic matter thanks to sunlight, this is a process given in autotrophic organisms which are capable of synthesizing their own food through this process.

What happens is that thanks to sunlight, molecules are formed that contain high levels of energy (ATP and NADPH), these molecules are used for the synthesis of carbohydrates that are used to feed the cell.

Therefore, we can confirm that the process that is responsible for the production of glucose in plants is photosynthesis.

Wetlands are important ecosystems for many reasons. Select all that apply.
vazorg [7]

A, B, & D.

Wetlands DO NOT increase the rate of extinction of mammals by creating a loss of habitat. Wetlands rather form a habitat for many organisms creating a rich microcosm of an ecosystem.

Explanation:

Wetlands are land areas that are seasonally or permanently submerged in water. They include marshlands, estuaries, deltas, swamps, floodplains, and etcetera. The plants within wetlands, such as mangrove slow down water runoff hence allowing settling down of, sediments and pollutants hence ‘cleaning’ the water.

Due to this fact that wetlands slow water movement, these ecosystems are significant in reducing flooding by ‘storing’ flood water and releasing it slowly hence acting like flood controls.

Alinara [238K]

Answer:

The protein is known as Uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) that is present in inner mitochondrial membrane of brown adipose cells of mammals and other organisms undergoing hibernation.

Function:

 • The protein allows the organisms to produce metabolic heat that helps in the organism’s regulation of body temperature.
 • This protein can also serve as a source of carbon for the production of carbohydrates when organism faces the period of prolonged fasting and thus help the organism to survive.
 • The protein also helps in the movement of protons into the mitochondrial matrix that ultimately activate the electron transport chain and releases more and more heat for body’s maintenance.

Hope it helps!
