The level of stimulation required to trigger a neural impulse is called the threshold. Hence, the answer to the question is option A.

Neurons transmit information in the form of signals throughout the body. They become activated when they are stimulated by light, heat, pressure or chemical signals from the external environment or from other cells in the body.

When a neuron is stimulated more than it's threshold, it changes in cell potential. Cell potential refers to the difference in electrical charges between the inside and the outside of the neuron. Potential is of two types - Resting potential and Action potential.

If stimulated below the neural threshold, the neuron remains in it's resting potential. When stimulation is strong enough to go past the threshold, it activates the neuron, after which it goes back to the resting potential again.

According to scientific thought, when does one species of organisms become two species?
alexandr402 [8]
It happens when the two groups become sufficiently different and the two can no longer interbreed. A known example of speciation is the London underground mosquito where it formed a new species within the existing genus. There are examples in micro-evolution but not in macro-evolution.
