The nurse is providing an intermittent (bolus) enteral feeding. how quickly should the feeding be given: gradually over 30 to 60 minutes.

Enteral tube feeding is indicated in patients who cannot main adequate oral intake of food or nutrition to meet their metabolic demands. Healthcare professionals commonly use enteral feeding in patients with dysphagia. Patients with dysphagia sometimes cannot meet their daily nutritional needs even with modification of food texture and or consistency.

In intermittent feeding,EN (Enteral nutrition) is directed more than 30-60 min each 4-6 h with or without a taking care of siphon. EN is regulated by means of a syringe or gravity dribble over a 4-10-min period

In intermittent feeding, routine will comprise of six bolus takes care of (one bolus at regular intervals) while the constant taking care of routine comprises of the absolute volume of feed directed more than 24 hours

The intermittent feeding routine will comprise of six bolus takes care of (one bolus like clockwork)

Patients with taking care of cylinders are in danger for such inconveniences as yearning, tube malpositioning or dislodgment, refeeding disorder, drug related confusions, liquid irregularity, insertion-site infection, and agitation.
